About Me:
I'm the vice president of Knit Picks. Mostly, I do number crunching, merchandising planning and product development. I love that my job mixes the creative with the analytical.

I've been knitting for about 6 years, and I try to learn something new with each project - except for the little projects that keep popping up just for fun, and socks, always socks. I also love to sew, read, hike, and daydream about home improvement projects (I see a big garden in my future).

Border Help?

So, I am working through my lace yarn stash. I'm sorry I keep showing you all discontinued colors in my projects. About a year ago, when we put the discontinued lace yarn colors on sale, I bought a TON (while, not quite literally, but enough to keep me knitting for a long while, obviously). On the upside, this enabled us to bring in lots of new, delicious colors of lace yarn for your enjoyment!… Continue

Finished Lace

I've been traveling so much this summer that I've had time to knit a lot of lace. It's funny how I knit, knit, knit, block, and then the shawl sits for so long before I photograph it. If I was a better photographer, I might get that done sooner.

I love this book. It has some really great ideas on intensive vegetable gardening. I always recommend it to friends who don't have a vast amount of garden space.

Don't give up...just when you think it'll never stop raining, the sun comes out and whamo, 95+! I wish I could grow vegies...my backyard faces east so, not enough sun. At our last house I grew 7 different kinds of tomatoes, and all kinds of other vegetables in a zero-lotline backyard. I used the square foot method. Have you ever read that book or heard about it?

Hiya, nice to meet you too! Oh boy, we're getting plenty of sunshine here....that's for sure. Every Spring when it's in the high 60's/low 70's, my garden is just singing...and then the 90's and 100's hit and I swear my poor plants threaten mutiny. I love to "collect" plants and so try to grow one of everything...ha ha! But really, my love is herbs; basils, thymes, oregano, dill, mints, rue, verbena, lemon balm, and so on. I also have an orange, green plum, nectarine, meyer lemon, cumquat, and pomegranite. How about you? What do you grow when the sun starts shining in your area?

Really? I thought that only applied to stashes--like the sock yarn stash. (Which may never get all knit up.) However, it doesn't stop me from getting new sock yarn when it comes into the shop. Winning may not be the point.

Happy Knitting.

So, Now that you are the Dye (queen) expert, have you thought of dyeing something looking like fair isle? Or sort of stain glass windowish? Just thinking out loud.

Hi Tina,
We enjoy a lot of the same hobies...sock knitting, reading, gardening, and dreaming about future projects.

Hi Tina. I wonder if you have heard of the yarn made of corn. I have seen it but have not ordered any yet. Just wondering if you know anything about it.

Though you might like to see the socks as they are progressing. I just posted to my photos and blog. Thanks. DA
