About Me:
I am a senior marketing manager here as well as the Knit Picks catalog manager. I handle all the photo planning, styling, layout and copy for the catalog and web along with helping to plan and organize our advertising campaigns for Knit Picks and our sister companies.

I am a relatively new mom (10 months now) as you all have seen pictures of my daughter in our catalogs. You can expect to see more whenever the need arrises as I love to share her with you... So my knitting has been way laid a bit...

I learned originally to knit from Grandma but didn't have the patience for it at the age of 13. When joining the staff here it just didn't seem to make sense to not knit. I do really love to knit though as it suits my "process" personality. I have always enjoyed things that take little effort but keeps my fingers moving and my brain engaged so if it isn't knitting it is crossword puzzles, sudoku, or jigsaw puzzles.

Domovoi Shawl

One of the best perks about being here for me is that I get to see projects knit up and worn by the models before most. And for the October catalog I fell in love with the Domovoi Shawl (as did our model, Amy). I live in an older house and we simply don't like to spend lots of money to heat it so almost every night I am tucked under a blanket of some sort or another so I figured this shawl will be perfect for those nights. Long enough to wrap around my shoulders and down my legs, really is there… Continue

Catalog Info

So as most of you know I am the catalog manager for Knit Picks however I am a designer by trade so when we switched to new paper a few months ago I was so excited. The paper white improved, the tactile quality of the pages improved and then there is the technical side that allowed less bleed through on the pages all of which allows the hard work we put in on the back end a greater platform from which to shine... plus as an added bonus to it all the paper is manufactured under the guidelines of t… Continue

A Little Something for my Dentist

So most people don't know but I have had major tooth trauma and repair over the past few years. I won't go into details but I will say always wear a mouth guard, even if it is beer league softball, you just never know when one might catch you in the face. Anyway, before this incident… Continue

Earning her cereal money

I had to wrap up my photoshoot today for the upcoming summer catalog and of course couldn't miss the opportunity to share with you all my daughter yet again. I'd be more than happy to share this pattern. The general instructions are in Microsoft Word and the pattern for the monogram was created in Excel. Are those file formats OK for you. I'll send them later this week if that is OK.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. I made the first pair for our office Christmas party last year. Since there are several Mountaineers in the office, I thought they would be a big hit. We do a swap style gift exchange, and the guy who got them, didn't realize what he had received. Later that day one of the ladies in the office, told him they were one of a kind handknitted, etc. and he came to find me and thank me for taking all the trouble. After Christmas he told me that he kept them for lounging in after work while he watched TV. He raved about how soft and warm they are. I used the Palette yarn.

I knitted a second paid for my boss's retirement in February, and he seemed thrilled. My other knitting friend in the office knitted him a Blue/Gold afghan (one of her signatures), and he was overwhelmed.

I wrote out the pattern so that it could be duplicated. I have a few orders for similar socks in other school colors, too.

Christy,

Just got my new catalog today. I just love when it arrives. My mind does flip flops imagining how to use new products.

You sent me an email response several months ago, and I mentioned my original sock patterns. I tried all this time to email them to you, but the dialup that I have to use - Rural, OH just would'nt do it.

I put pictures of my socks and my dog sweaters (my first real project) on my new MY PAGE. Just look for Blue Lake Knitter, and let me know what you think. The collegiate socks are made with Pallette and the Feather and Fan socks from some leftover Lion Brand Microspun

Hope you like them. I'm probably going to put a few more pictures on this weekend.

Thanks. I value your opinion.
