I'm in the UK and although I pleaded with Knitpicks over the phone they won't supply me. Is there a kind sould who would acquire yarn for me, paid in advance by PayPal? I would need advice with the postage charges as I have no idea what they would be.
I need 7 balls Pearl DK and 3 of Orca as I would very much like to knit Jared Flood's baby shawl.
Would love to hear from you. Continue
The new job has eaten up almost all of my time. I manage to knit a little bit in order to maintain my sanity. The fair isle baby sweater has been sitting in completed pieces since August. I have to block and finish it before my daughter outgrows it. I have managed to squeeze in a couple of wash cloths for a charity auction. I finally figured out what to do with this lovely mohaire, silk blend wool--a lacy scarf. I don't know if I will have much time for a knitted christmas this year. Perhaps I c… Continue

That's what happens when you use digital cameras. Sometimes you need to remember it needs to be charged. Which is what I exactly forgot to do. So there I am yesterday ready to take pictures and there is my camera dead no battery life. So I plugged it in to charged it but had to leave to run errands. UGH!! Well the ugh was partly for the camera (I will have to wait to hopefully this afternoon to post my FO.) and the other was while I was getting some car knitting time, in the end I had to frog it… Continue
I love dancing. My friend the elf is a very talented dancer (Kate calls him Baxter but I call him dancing queen).
He gets especially excited this time of year because the holidays are just around the corner. Everyone in the office keeps talking about quick gifts to knit. They have lots of good ideas like coffee cup cozies,… Continue

We will be hosting a book signing for Mary Scott Huff. Kate has been busy organizing it and has a blog entry with all the details.

I have been busily knitting all weekend. I got a lot done, but no knitting FOs to show for it. Sigh!
Early yesterday I reminded myself that I had not done the embellishment on my apron for the Guild's Apron Project, so I started thinking about that and searching for ideas. Thank you Ravelry for having something I could use.
My neighbor came over to help me organize my stash... I had containers of yarn and fiber everywhere - stacked especially in my bedroom, and I had no idea where anything was… Continue
After many requests (lol just kidding, ONE request, but it was heartfelt enough that i decided to write up my pattern) here is my hat pattern:

Cast on, yeah, but not for a new project! Today I got the cast on my right hand. We'll see how much I can do in a few days. Here's what it looked like last Tuesday, as I was getting ready for surgery. As usual, they had to pry my knitting from my busy hands. They even got my glasses first!
Now, this is one FO that I'm really proud of. I'm getting a bit of a reputation at the shop. People are starting to ask me to make things that they want to have, but not necessarily want to make. Such is the case with this shawl.
Cathy at the at the shop comissioned me to make this shawl for her. I was in the middle of making that devil tank, so the yarn and pattern sat on my vanity for a few weeks before I even looked at it. Then, it took me a while to get into it after I started because it ha… Continue
Over the weekend I received a lovely link, in Ravelry, to a handspun, sock knitting, KAL. Yippee!! I clicked over to the Discussion Thread, said I would love to participate, added my note and went on with the rest of my weekend.
Yep, I forgot to join the group, can't remember the host's ID - nothing, nada, zilch!! Short Term Memory disaster!!
If the kind lady who invited me reads my blog, or anyone else who joined the Ravelry KAL for handspun, hand-knit socks, please take pity on me and send m… Continue
Baby Viking hat - from an online pattern.
Here is the Online Pattern
I adjusted the pattern to fit a 3 year old, which simply involved making the brim and crown bigger around, and making the horns a little bit longer. Next time, I'd make them fatte… Continue
Aubergine (purple eggplant ) hat, with leaf, ladybug, and tendril...
I am mediterranean, and around here we call eggplants aubergines. I can see why the small white ones would be called eggplants, but not the aubergine ones..... I could be really difficult, and call it a patlixhan, which is Albanian for aubergine… Continue
My own design, a simple fair isle pattern in 3 colors. This was a really fun first project in stranded knitting!
I used Swish Worsted weight yarn in Dublin, Lawn, and Bok Choy.
The pea pod came from the book Amigurumi Knits, by Hansi Singh.

Until recently I had about 3 Dolls Houses which I had fully furnished. I thought some of the knitted items I had made might give somebody the idea to be creative and make their own versions as wonderful Christmas gifts for children and grandchildren. These items were all 1/12th scale.
For the bathroom items, I used some very fine boucle knit in garter stitch for making miniature towels and flannels. I embroiderd a tiny motif on a corner of the flannels, and rolled up a matching towel and secured… Continue
I started this summer sweater back in the spring and here it is November before I finally finished it.
I like the yarn, but I'm afraid it is going to catch on everything. It's a ribbon wrapped with a shiny thread, and I was constantly snagging it while I was working with it. I made the sleeves slightly longer than… Continue
