Still socks

Bon Jour!

No, I am not dead, didn't leave the country, shred my sock and quit or any other drastic thing. I gave up on the round pointed metal needles and ordered those lovely Harmony wood DPs. They are a dream. I had the top of the sock ( the very 1st sock) 1/2 done. I started working with the new needles and the 1st 1/2 looked
like crap SO I ripped out all the way back to the ribbing (2-1/2 inches long).

In the meantime, I had a fibro flare and was down for several days. Got up just in time… Continue

Sock Progress

Well, I'm still crawling along on the first sock. It looks good, though.
I wrecked my bod again and it took ages to get back on my feet. It's
so frustrating to look like a younger healthy woman and in truth, I am
fragile on so many levels. I feel good, overdo, spend days or weeks
coming back. BORING!!

Well, upward and onward. I will finish these rascals!

SOCKS!

After over 40 years of avoiding socks, I just started my very first pair.
So far I'm doing great but I've only done 8 rows:> I do have hopes of
success. (Those who pray, please pray for me.) I don't need another UFO.

Thanks for the info on the fibro. I too am at the end of my rope. I'm so frustrated and tired of being tired. It just gets worse and worse. Let me know how things go for you!

Hi, sure sounds like fun get together, we do not have anything like that here, We are waiting for one of our daughters, and the one that lives here and her hubby will come to, so it will not be a great gathering. I hope you will have a wonderful day, free of pain, Hugs, Irene

Sounds like great thanksgiving plans for you. We may go to MacDonald's or someplace equally exciting. I found out from the Pharmacist that the antibiotic contained 2 ingredients: one was the antibiotic and the other is something to make the stuff work faster, and that second ingredient is what makes everyone sick. Grrrr. I am doing much better now without it. I took my Dex yesterday and have the usual side effects. Tomorrow I should be just fine.
I went to the Genealogy Library near here and fixed a few books. Made a list of supplies I need to buy to do a good job. I found the glue they have is really no good so I need to send away for that. It is a lot like Elmer's Glue-All, but better. I found some on the internet I will send for.
We certainly have lovely weather. Our son in Seattle is getting one storm after another. The mountains are full of snow but like us, Seattle is in the valley so no snow on them.
We got our new frig. It is much quieter than the old one. The freezer is in the bottom making it much easier to get in the more often used frig part.

Have a lovely Thanksgiving. Looks like you have great plans. Enjoy the family.

I am going to survive that antibiotic. Doc said stop taking it. I am sure I will pick up right away. Back on Chemo today. It will probably be as it always is: almost no side effects except tired and lazy. Friday I take the Dexamethasone and that one has side effects I really don't like, but by Saturday evening I will be fine again. Glad you met some new ladies who like to knit. Getting out and about is good for both of us: think of something else besides our aches and pains. Thursday I am to "monitor" at the knitting club here. That means I do the coffee, and welcome visitors, and lock up when done. Sort of an "in charge" but not really, thank goodness. Everyone has to have their turn in the barrel each year. I have been gathering supplies to use fixing book. I hope I have enough energy to do it Thursday afternoon. We see.
Weather here is lovely. Mid 70's and bright sunshine.
Take care, and have fun.

Bon Jour to you to, have not heard from you lately, guess you are so busy, love all your pictures, We once played golf ,one of the courses had little rabbits at the end of one fairway and they just sat there and never moved, I thought they were the cutest things.Have been knitting some, what are you working on and how are you feeling these day, Irene

I hope that new treatment works out. Hurting and being out of energy all the time is no fun. Did the potluck turn out well? I bet it did. I tend to avoid potlucks because the food is often at the inbetween temperature for too long, which is where things can spoil. Not too paranoid!

I am on an antibiotic to try and make me better, but it has given me terrible diarrhea. Other than that, I am in pretty good shape. I start my chemo drug today, after my week off.

I have a new "job" helping to repair books at the local genealogy library. I did this back in the dark ages when I was in college. I can do the simple stuff for sure. I have been reading the internet to see what the latest methods are, because I am 50 years behind. This is a job I can do when I feel like it, and not have to do it every week at 2PM, etc. A once in a while commitment.
I hope you feel better really soon. Thanks for asking.

more--
My DIL is an Internist with Geriatric specialty. Her treatment for many things is "exercise". Do you have a pool in your area you can join? Walking pools give you exercise without inflaming the arthritis. She prescribes this for old age, oncoming Alzheimer's, hypertension, migraine, depression, obesity and the general blahs. Getting up and moving is one of the hardest things to do when you feel crappy!
Find something fun today.

I just found an hew LYS where they are nicer to you. I need to go and check it out, except I am afraid I will buy more yarn! Not what I need.

New box from KP due in today or tomorrow. Whee!

Yes, Thought Stopping is very helpful. I ask my self, "Is this the end of the world?" and it helps me keep a better perspective.
More later.
