Yes, I have that book. In fact, my garden is laid out in similar concept, with slightly larger L-shaped sections, just to make best use of the available space.
This is my first year to have a "real" garden, having just recently reclaimed my entire yard from an overgrowth of weeds. So, I'm trying the usual tomatoes, zucchini, lettuce, cucumbers etc., but not much is happening in the growth department because it's practically the coolest and wettest summer on record.
Hi Autumnafternoon, Nice to meet you! What are you growing in your garden this year? We've had so little sunshine here, that mine isn't doing much yet.
I love knitting socks. I think it is that sense of accomplishment. Plus there are no seams to sew together unless I'm doing toe down and I don't mind grafting those few stitches together.
I haven't ordered my sock blanks yet since I know that even if they arrived, I wouldn't have time to play just yet so I'll be good and wait a little bit. Maybe I'll be ready by my birthday and I can ask for them as gifts! My family will think I am nuts when I tell them what I want...
Laughing is good medicine! Glad you had a chuckle over that. My mother was knitting before I was born and has continued most of her life, so with that example it was a natural for me to follow.
Hi there, My first friend! Thanks for adding me. I used to live in the Bay Area too! Who didn't it seems. I live outside Sac now - towards Tahoe in the foothills. Love it! I seem to always have a pair of socks going. They are easy to take along and I took a class several years ago and was always worried I would forget how to turn the heel! Now I am trying new ways. Can't wait to dye this sock blank and see how it turns out. I thought that joining the knit along would keep me motivated. I have been into felting bags lately. How about you - what's your favorite to knit?
Thanks, I am glad you like it. I do say busy. I have more time than most as I have a self sufficient husband and no children. More time for household maintenence and lots of time for creating and knitting.
Thanks!!! Saddly right now its true, I started a new sock the other day. Today I pulled out a nasty knot of yarn from the center of my ball, I would cut it out but I am working with self stripping yarn. It would be to much brain power to remember to cut out the same amount of yarn for its mate!! So I am slowly trying to get the knot out.
I'm married and a mom to two wonderful boys. I'm a continuing student working towards a counseling degree. I love the coast and plan to live there one day. I collect books, patterns, and all things knitting. I have a serious addiction to yarn. My stash continues to "mulitply" ...but I swear I have nothing to do with it.
