Finished Vest

I have been terrible at taking pictures and blogging about finished projects. I really, really have been knitting as much as ever, and here is a little proof. This is my Nederland Vest (from the fall 2008 issue of KnitScene) in… Continue

Every Way Wrap

I was so excited about the Every Way Wrap when it came out in the Fall 2009 issue of Interweave Knits. I had never knit reversible cables before (unlike regular cables, this cable pattern looks good on both sides; there isn't an obvious front and back - which means you're crossing s… Continue

I'm the vice president of Knit Picks. Mostly, I do number crunching, merchandising planning and product development. I love that my job mixes the creative with the analytical.

I've been knitting for about 7 years, and I try to learn something new with each project - except for the little projects that keep popping up just for fun, and socks, always socks. I also love to sew, read, hike, and daydream about home improvement projects (I see a big garden in my future).

Not a problem. I use the cedar oil when I oil my cedar chest and also keep blocks in the closet that I oil regularly. If nothing else, I enjoy the smell.

    Tina,

A comment actually related to the Podcast on organizing (the podcast itself won't accept comments for some reason).

Anyway, you can buy cedar oil in small bottles to refresh the cedar balls/blocks rather than having to sand them.

    Hi Tina,

I was wondering if you had any suggestions for moth proofing? My Mom just told me that some hand knitted gifts I had given her and my Dad (along with a bunch of other wool items, like slacks and sport coats) have served as a moth buffet. I told her I would come to a wool experts and ask for help. Thanks.

Hi Tina -- just listened to the Knitting Essentials podcast on my way in to work (on BART while knitting). Can you send me the list of items you keep in your to-go vinyl pocket? I tried to find it with the podcast info, but didn't find it. You are right, this is a MUST! Just yesterday I needed that crochet hook to pick up a stitch and didn't have one the right size - so I made do with a paper clip (don't ask).

I love all of the KnitPick podcasts! In fact it was this podcast that got me to ask for an iPod for Christmas so I can listen on the go and not just on my computer! Thanks YOU!!

Hi Susan, my Ten-Stitch is coming along, but progress feels slow because it is taking longer and longer to go around each time as the circumference increases. I think I have about 40 to 50 more knitting hours on it before it will be finished. I'll definitely post photos when it's done!
