About Me:
I help spread the word about all of Knit Picks newest products and promotions as a member of the marketing department.

I'm a pretty new knitter so I like projects that are cheery, a little quirky, and quick and easy to make. Legwarmers, fingerless mittens a la Madonna, and pretty colors like Neptune and Moroccan Red are right up my alley.

Winter Warmth

Summer is definitely over here in the Northwest. The leaves are changing colors, the rain is starting up, and we're dipping into the 40's and 50's at night. It doesn't get super cold here in the winter, but I know I definitely wouldn't want to spend the night out in the dam… Continue

Angela,
Love the Pickle! I downloaded the pattern and was shocked. Do you have engineers designiing your patterns? Dear... this cold be done so, so much easier. I'll send you a pattern is a week or so, if my schedule allows... and I'll show you how easy a pickle can be. susan

Angela,
Way to go... with the new contest... you have added a few hundred new Knitting Community members in the past few hours alone. KP is an up and comer... Please do not ever go out of business. What would we do without you?

I love the idea of charity knitting.
I have also given to charity. lately I have been trying to load up on baby gifts for my daughters freinds.
How do we join your charity group?

Angela, I also wanted to mention that one of the other highlighted homework projects was a pair of socks knit in Felici Meridian using Grumperina's Jaywalker pattern. The knitter thought they looked like Ravenclaw colors so she knitted an eagle right into the heel. You have to go to Ravelry to check it out, look in the group HPKCHC (Harry Potter Knit Crochet House Cup), the thread called May Prizes. They are very clever!

I've seen a number of socks knit in Felici using that pattern, all very attractive. I got a couple skeins of Essential Multi Jester just because I liked the purple and green together. After a search for the right pattern, I had also decided on Jaywalker. In the Multi, it is very different from the striped effect but I'm still happy with them...if I ever get my Harry Potter homework done, I'll get back to them!

Thanks, Angela--being the newbie is difficult when knitting has changed so much in the last 30 years!! I'm amazed to think that EZ was producing patterns while I was knitting my handspun --must have used some of them way back when!!

Angela, Sorry if I made you feel left out, but everyone who responded was pretty favorable, then I asked the lady I'm doing it for and she told me she didn't need anything that "hard" to knit. Since she is a non-knitter, I had to explain how much more productive you are when doing something interesting than something too boring (like plain garter stitch). She agreed and I started knitting. I need to start another one for my best girl friend from work (I've known her for over 30 years), and she deserves something special. I will be using Red WotA for that one.

Ok, Angela--I searched the site for Hemi facts, but can not find the size of needle nor the size of yarn--is it 900 yd. of lace weight, fingering weight, sport weight?? It does look like a doable first lace pattern?? Thanks for the info--the blog site is very entertaining!!

I'm fairly new to the site and still exploring--the Hemi intrigues me and noticed another shawl mentioned on Brooklyntweed--Girasole--it's a really beautiful piece but payment only by paypal--Is there any way you (CT) could carry this in your designer patterns list??--it looks really great!!
