Fall Felting

The weather is turning colder, and it's a great time to be thinking about warm slippers, hot cider, and snuggling by the fire under a cozy afghan. I'm busy with several felting projects at the moment, and fall is such a nice time to work on things like that. I've got 4 pairs of slippers in process (serially, not concurrently) - one pair in the Laced Slippers Pattern, and I'm working on the

39 Felted Snow People - complete

I started Christmas early this year - last April or May. And I'm now done. Whew! I made 13 sets of the Felted Snowmen pattern (39 total snowmen). It was a wonderful project to work on over the summer. Very portable, small, and no heavy warm wool resting on me in the heat. Two of my Lumpies got special Christmas hats and scarves due to a Knit Picks Christmas Hat project (upcoming).

It's great to be done with my Christmas knitting in early October - that leaves me time to make some murloc dolls (… Continue

Knit Picks Warehouse Adventures

I just spent a week at the Knit Picks warehouse in Ohio. Heaven. Really nice folks, and a huge building bursting with yarn (and fabric and paint!). What a fun job I have! I got to see the staff making the Carmen Bananas Kits, and the holiday ornaments kits. I had packed light, since the warehouse is definitely dress casual, so I had room to buy a Carmen Bananas kit, and some of the hand-painted stroll yarns. And I got some duller green yarn to make my DH some socks (he has some trousers that col… Continue

I think the JD is totally appropriate. Sounds like you do have a fun job! We did get hit by the snow and cold recently. Last Wed. it was -14 on my drive to work (fortunately only at 10-15 minute drive). Hope you have a wonderful holiday season as well. I plan to enjoy family and, after the rush this week and next, relax a knit some. Jeanne

You asked me a few weeks about my felted hearts. The pattern is free on the Mochi Mochi blog. I think it was Kate that mentioned in one of the podcast about how she likes to follow that site. They are fast and easy to make and then just need a little needle felting to make each one special.

Did you ever visit Loopville in Homburg Square when you lived in Knoxville? Jinka taught me to knit and felt and I am completed addicted now...lol. Judy Sumner, who wrote "Knitted Socks East to West" is getting ready to begin a sock class that I hope I can attend. The next couple of weeks are so busy with finals coming!
