I recently bought the Knitter's Almanac. I see why everyone loves EZ!!
I am dying to start a Pi Shawl. But I'm a rather new knitter. Her instructions are just too loose for me! I want a lovely, lacy shawl. What size needles do I use? What weight yarn?

That should look really interesting. I look forward to seeing it one day.

Mandy: The bauble looks great. I am thinking of knitting it on finer needles and with finer threads. Oh, say size 30 cotton with maybe, 4/0 needles. Not a big problem for a lace knitter/tatter.

Sorry, every time I add a photo here it seems to go huge on my computer. I hope it doesn't look too distorted here. I turned the stars into a Christmas bauble, filled with some strips of trnslucent plastic which were used in the packaging of a parcel I got some months ago. The paper snowflake was part of the same packaging.

Oh dear, sorry you have had to rip back to the centre circle on the pi - but glad to hear of the improved design. I look forward to seeing the completed shawl. I have just completed my own version of teh Christmas Fiddle Faddle (August project.) This used EZ's star design, I modified this slightly to make a four-pointed star version. Mixing the two types of stars together, I made this:

The blanket looks marvy! Well done. Did you hear that I had to rip out back to my center circle on the PI? Well going back to the drawing board made an even better design. I am moving forward again.

Well, I have finally completed my Mystery Blanket. It will be lovely to snuggle under this when the cooler weather returns. The finished size is 52" x 36", so its a useful size.

Hello,
I'm new to the group. I have completed some patterns from the Almanac, and am just getting re-committed to completing all the patterns. My next project will be mittens (yep. Mittens in May, in August).

There used to be a list of the yarn requirements (based on Knitpicks yarns) for the patterns on Kelley's blog. However, I can't seem to find it now. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
