Colorwork Reference Info

Knitters have been asking, so here it is, the whole enchilada, all the Palette colors artfully arranged in one enormous photo. (Click for bigger.) I make no guarantees about color accuracy on your monitor, but this way you'll see relationships between colors, since they're right next to each other in one shot. Enjoy!

Group member Cheryl Waters has created an excellent reference sheet for keeping track of which Palette yarn you have in your stash! You can download the PDF here: PaletteColors2009.pdf

its been awhile since i have been able to work on my mittens but i wanted to thank everyone for their help and yes you helped a great deal it works my mittens actually look much better now maybe the fifth time is a charm
i also had the problem of them being to narrow part of me thought i might be knitting to tight turned out that wasn't the case so i went up half a size larger in the needle and that worked perfect not sure if they are going to be too long or not yet though again thanks everyone for all of your continuing support

I think you have a mean streak, Melissa. Here we were all thinking we were going to find out what this is and about to be finished and you trick us. LOL !!!

Kaye,

I think your question would make an excellent forum topic! Why don't you start a discussion there, as I'm sure it will warrant many responses...

Maureen, same as joane said!!! i use 2 circs, or one for magic loop - but same deal as with using DPNs. do the first 2 stitches on the new needle kind of tight. since i use circs, i will lay that left needle very firmly on the right hand cable, and pull the first 2 knit stitches tight. no ladders!! It seems like tension overkill, but like joanne said, it will even out.

so since you are using dpns, same thing, just pull that working yarn.!

i have not started the maeve kit yet, so i dont know if this tip will help - when you dont have to have the stitches separated out exactly the same, then you can adjust so that you dont always have the break in the same point. LIKE rather than have 30 stitches on 3 DPN, every once in a while change to having 28, 28, and 34 for example, know what i mean?? but if that messes with the colorworking, then dont do it. With a single color hat, i can just break my stitches up anywhere, and there is much less chance of laddering then. But i still will alwasy pull tight when i reach a new group of stitches.
